Barney Frank and Scott Brown

Barney Frank's initial reaction to Scott Brown's Massachusetts victory was a bit surprising:

I have two reactions to the election in Massachusetts. One, I am disappointed. Two, I feel strongly that the Democratic majority in Congress must respect the process and make no effort to bypass the electoral results.

When did Barney become such a reasonable guy?

I wondered if Scott Brown had carried Barney's district, but I could not find hard data specifically pertaining to Barney's gerrymandered neck of the woods. Just for you, I chased down the data and crunched the numbers.

The results confirmed the stories circulating on the web. Amazingly, Scott Brown did win the majority of the votes in Barney Frank's Congressional District in Tuesday's election.

Here are the raw numbers:

Scott Brown: 116,765
Martha Coakley: 113,831
Joe Kennedy: 2,069

In 2008, Frank won his district with 64.3% of the vote. In 2006, he was uncontested and took 98.48% of the vote.

Perhaps with the results of Tuesday's election in hand, Frank will feel compelled to take his constituents' concerns more seriously. Maybe he'll cut back on insults:

Hey...loopy LaRouchies have feelings too!

Hat tip to the Fall River Board of Election Commissioners for precinct level data from Tuesday's election. Thank you!

Naw, Barney doesn't have a humble bone in his body, and the insults are likley to increase, not decrease. He's got to be one of the most arrogant a-holes in Massachusetts, and that's saying something.

A leopard doesn't change its spots.

What? Bawney Fwank? Humbow? I would love to see that, but I think he's a bit like a little boy that's had some fear instilled in him in the woodshed. When he starts hanging with his peeps and smokin' a little pot on the front porch with his life partner, the old Barney Frank will return. Nastier than ever!

Oooops. I fowgot. Bawney doesn't know what pot wooks wike, does he?

We've got 2 good candidates running in the MA-04: Earl Sholley and Keith Messina. Whomever emerges from the primary on Sept 14th will get a special consideration and possible endorsement as BF is horrible and must be removed.

WHT: Amazing, huh?

Fredd: Arrogant indeed.

Katie: LOL. I hope MA is tired of his shenanigans.

nacilbupera: Keith Messina? Thank you for the tip. Yes, BF must go!

You're on to something here, Right Klik!
He sees the writing on the wall, and it's NOT good for him. I still hope they kick him to the curb.

I think Barney might be smitten by Brown's good looks.

AB: A good candidate needs to emerge.

Cube: Ah, yes. Why didn't I think of that?

Hey you know the woman you featured in the video who is attacking Barney Frank -Rachel Brown- is also running for his seat on the Democratic ticket.

Barney is unlikely to leave the public dole w/o being forcibly extracted from his office. (Let's just say that I have my doubts about his retirement plans.) Check out Republican @seanbielat on Twitter...he's a well educated, articulate, military veteran who understands business in "the real world". He could be the right person at the right time.
