Unelected Democrat Vows to Ignore the Wishes of His Constituents

This confirms the thesis of yesterday's post. Democrats in the House and Senate will go for a kamikaze rush to push ObamaCare through Congress as quickly as possible:

A freshman Democratic senator said Sunday that he will support his party’s efforts to pass health care reform legislation even if that means losing his seat in next year’s midterm elections.

“If you get to the final point and you are a critical vote for health care reform and every piece of evidence tells you if you support the bill you will lose your job, would you cast the vote and lose your job?” CNN’s John King asked Sen. Michael Bennet of Colorado on Sunday’s State of the Union.

“Yes,” Bennet bluntly and simply replied.

Bennet was appointed by Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter to replace Sen. Ken Salazar, who stepped down from the Senate to serve as President Obama’s Interior Secretary. Bennet, who was superintendent of the Denver public school system prior to his appointment, will have to seek election to the seat for the first time in 2010.

I'd like to know more about Mr. Bennet's golden parachute. Is it as nice as Blanche Lincoln's?

Unelected Dem will vote for ObamaCare. Constituents' input is irrelevant.

Will the Left Try a Kamikaze Rush?

ObamaCare is unconstitutional.

Voters strongly disapprove of the health care overhaul passed by the House of Representatives (51% to 35%).

The will of the people is the only legitimate foundation of any government...

I thought so too. It's perfect Ai-Uchi. They win even if they lose.

This is disgraceful. He is a low-life congressman that obviously cares nothing about his constituents. I hope he is booted out of office in 2010.

TRG: The Democrats are ready to make this happen. It's just a matter of working out their internal differences. Unless Americans literally fill the streets, ObamaCare will soon become a reality.

Teresa: This underscores the illegitimacy of the Democrats' agenda.

It's not a question of honor per se, it's a question of pursuing one's agenda bar nothing. In budo, there are three possible outcomes to a fight/confrontation: You kill your enemy, he kills you, you kill each other. Au-Uchi means mutual strike or kill. The japanese believe that even in the case of dying, but your enemy does, that is winning and acceptable. That explains kamikaze. So, in the case of the dems, they accept their near future defeat as they know that once people become enculturated to socialism, they'll be back.

Is it just me, or do the Democrats seem to become more anti-democratic every day?

In the days prior to the Continental Congress' vote on independence, a number of delegates, who had strong convictions of their own about independence, were glad for a 3 week hold on the vote so that they could be sure of what their colony wanted.

How times change.

He doesn't have a job because of his "constituents." Since Salazar appointed him and now Salazar is Obama's bulldog to get all democrats on board to vote yea for this monstrous healthcare bill, that Bennett better do what his mentor says to do if he knows what's good for him. Imagine him saying no to this bill when Salazar's the reason he has a job.
Talk about a conflict of interest!

WHT: No honor among thieves...

TRG: They'll do every thing they can to win this battle even if it means loosing the battle in 2010, because this battle will win the war for them.

Proof: They're the Socialist-Statist Party.

Velcro: An amazing contrast.

Steve: Absolutely correct. His constituents are the least of his concerns.
