Ten Buck Fridays: Fresh Poll

Ready for the next Round of Ten Buck Fridays? Here are this week's ten conservative candidates:

Information on the candidates from their own websites:

Star Parker (CA-37)

Star Parker is running for the U.S. House of Representatives in the 37th Congressional District in Los Angeles County, California. She is the founder and president of CURE, the Center for Urban Renewal & Education, a 501(c)3 non-profit think tank that explores and promotes market-based public policy to fight poverty.

Prior to her involvement in social activism, Star Parker was a single welfare mother in Los Angeles, California. After receiving Christ, Star returned to college, received a BS degree in marketing and launched an urban Christian magazine. The 1992 Los Angeles riots destroyed her business, yet served as a springboard for her focus on conservative activism...

Star Parker faces Congresswoman J Laura Richardson on November 2.

Star Parker on the issues

Marco Rubio (FL-Sen)

Highly regarded for his principled, energetic and idea-driven leadership, Marco Rubio is a candidate for U.S. Senate in 2010.

In 1971, Marco was born in Miami to Cuban-born parents who came to America following Fidel Castro’s takeover. When he was eight years old, Rubio and his family moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where his father worked as a bartender at the Sams Town Hotel and his mother as a housekeeper at the Imperial Palace Hotel...

A host of candidates are fighting for this open U.S. Senate seat. Rubio is expected to face RINO turncoat Charlie Crist and a Democrat in the fall.

Marco Rubio on the issues

Jim Rutledge (MD-Sen)

James B. Rutledge, III was raised on a beef cattle farm in Harford County. His father was a veterinarian and his mother an artist and antiques dealer. Rutledge's mother comes from coalminers that immigrated in the 1800s. His father comes from farmers who first came to Maryland in the 1600s.

Rutledge attended North Harford High School (1979) before graduating with his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Georgia (1983), Magna Cum Laude. While at the University of Georgia, Rutledge was admitted to the Phi Beta Kappa honor society and was the Captain of the University's club lacrosse team...

If Jim Rutledge wins the Republican primary on September 14, he will face incumbent Senator Barbara Mikulski in November.

Jim Rutledge on the issues

Peter Schiff (CT-Sen)

Peter Schiff is a successful businessman, bestselling author, and economic expert widely credited with foretelling the US economic crisis years before it occurred.

Peter is not a politician and has never held elected office, instead dedicating his entire adult life to economics and finance. A graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, Peter studied finance and accounting before joining a prominent brokerage firm...

If Schiff can beat Linda McMahon (World Wrestling Entertainment CEO) in the Republican primary on August 10, he will face the Democratic nominee to replace Chris Dodd.

Peter Schiff on the issues

Jacob Turk (MO-5)

Jacob is a Marine veteran and is the proud son of a Marine Korean War veteran.

Jacob raised his three children for 12 years as a single dad. He has lived the difficulties of being a single parent, and knows how government decisions on parental rights, public schools, the tax code and sex education either supports our role raising our children or undermines this very important, very rewarding, and often difficult responsibility. He believes in parents as the molders of our children rather than government programs.

Jacob owned his own small business for 12 years...

If Jacob Turk wins the GOP primary on August 3, he will face Emanuel "Spittle-Gate" Cleaver in the fall.

Jacob Turk on the issues

Liz Carter (GA-4)

Liz Carter is the best of what America has to offer: a small business owner, wife and Mom. No silver spoon in her mouth when she was born, she’s worked like the rest of us starting at the bottom, overcoming adversity, and making the best of an American life for her family. She’s a student of history and politics and an advocate. Her father, a World War II veteran, taught her what we all know, America is the greatest country in the world and she’s concerned that Washington’s lost its way...

Liz Carter is fighting to "Yank Hank" in November. If Liz wins the GOP primary on July 20, she will face Hank "Gaum's Gonna Tip Over" Johnson in the fall.

Liz Carter on the issues

Vijay Kumar (TN-5)

Vijay was born in 1954 in Hyderabad, India, to a conservative middle class family. He studied classics, political science, and philosophy in India. In 1979, Vijay emigrated to the United States because he felt uplifted by the values and possibilities inherent in the American way of life.

In 1983, Vijay married Robin Minix, a native of Bowling Green, Kentucky. In keeping with his conservative family values, Vijay and Robin have been married for twenty-seven years. The Kumar family attends Bellevue Community Church in Nashville, Tennessee...

If Vijay Kumar wins the GOP primary on August 19, he will face the Democratic nominee in November.

Vijay Kumar on the issues.

Anna Little (NJ-6)

Anna is a wife, a mother of three children, and currently serves as Mayor of the Borough of Highlands, New Jersey. As Mayor, Anna has proven her ability to manage a fiscally responsible municipality by reducing the budget, and implementing an economic growth vision for her hometown.

From 2006-2008, Anna served as a Monmouth County Freeholder, bringing her vision of responsible government to the county by establishing the Continuous Budget Review Committee, and by hosting an Economic Development Summit...

Anna Little will face incumbent Congressman Frank Pallone in the fall.

Anna Little on the issues

Allen West (FL-22)

Lieutenant Colonel Allen West (US Army, Retired) was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia and is third of four generations of military servicemen in his family. His parents instilled in him a very basic principle, love of God and Country. In 2004, when it was time to retire from more than twenty years of service in the US Army, he brought his wife and two young daughters to Broward County, Florida, where he taught high school for one year. He then returned to Afghanistan as an advisor to the Afghan army, an assignment he finished in November 2007...

If he wins the GOP primary on August 24, West will face Congressman Ron Klein in November.

Allen West on the issues

Ann Marie Buerkle (NY-25)

A native of Auburn, New York, Ann Marie is a nurse and accomplished attorney working in healthcare, mother of six and grandmother of eleven.

After graduating as an R.N. from St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing, Ann Marie worked at Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse. While juggling a growing family, Ann Marie was a substitute school nurse for many years before obtaining her law degree from Syracuse University School of Law...

Ann Marie Buerkle is the only candidate in her district running on both the Conservative Party and Repbulican Party lines. A victory in the September 14 GOP primary would allow her to face Dan Maffei in November.

Ann Marie Buerkle on the issues

Not enough room for Patrick Murray, Vicky Hartzler, Teresa Collett or Charles Lollar this week, but they will roll over into next week.

Hey RK, first thank you for including Anna in your poll; she's the single most legitimate 'tea party' win in the entire country, hands down.

Second, she's facing FRANK PALLONE, not Scott Garrett (who is our only conservative right now in Washington)

Frank Pallone is the author of HR 3200 and proud of it.

Frank Pallone is the author of cap-and-trade and proud of it.

Frank Pallone is the male Nancy Pelosi in the House...and proud of it.

Anna beat a billionaireess while being outspent 25-1.

Anna needs the money more than anyone because Frank Pallone has 4 million in the bank.

Thanks again RK. Can't thank you enough.

GO ANNA GO!

Anon: Thank you for the correction, and thanks for telling us more about Anna and the race in NJ-6!

If Rutledge makes it through the primary, he'll be facing off against incumbent US Senator Barbara Mikulski. Mikulski has been in federal office since 1977 when she first entered Congress. She first entered the US Senate in 1987. She needs to get out and Rutledge is the right guy for the job. He's a solid conservative who supports term limits.

He came in 3rd in last week's poll, which is awesome for a lesser known Republican from Maryland. Glad to see him up there again!

MN: Thanks for the nomination!

Would you please consider adding Daria Novak to a future poll? She's pro-military, pro-life, pro-constitution and is a Reagan Republican. More here: http://novakforcongress.com/

Thanks,

Got a new nomination for next week from a comment over at P/P:

How often can people vote? Just once, or once a day?

Hi RK:
The poll is up and running on TCL. I'll head over to the other sites and post it there, too.
Wow, this thing is getting bigger every week!
Thanks for posting all of the information on each candidate. I included it in my post. I've been encouraging everyone to check out the websites. You've made it easier to familiarize everyone with the candidates. Great idea.

RightKlik said...

nicedeb: The only way to vote more than once is to vote at another computer.

TCL: Thank you! And thanx for putting up the new poll

Where is the link so I can get it posted today as well? Forgive me if I am blind and didn't see it.

Great suggestion from someone who commmented on polldaddy:

This is such a great idea. I would suggest to first take into consideration the candidates that are facing primary elections soon. Meaning that the sooner they will battle in a primary the sooner we should support them and then continue to go down the list. That way we can make sure all of the candidates get our support to fight the good fight.
Thanks,

Luz

Okay, going with Rubio again--same reason. He has a tough uphill climb in Florida, and we need him to win.

The Conservative Lady said...

I saw that comment over at PollDaddy, too. Great suggestion.

RightKlik said...

FS: Yes, Crist has to be stopped. It's unfortunate that he's polling as well as he is. Hopefully it's mostly the name recognition factor. That can be fixed.

TCL: I'm glad we have the opportunity to help some candidates before their primaries.

Regarding Daria Novak...She is a true grassroots candidate that has been on the ground meeting the people of CT's 2nd District for 18 months now. Daria is in a primary with two "just registered" Republicans because who have stated "personal reasons" for not registering until a few weeks before they decided to jump into the Congressional race shortly before our convention in May. Daria is a lifelong Republican who has devoted her life to conservative values and causes.

FYI...
Connecticut primary is on August 10th. More critical deadline is June 30th reporting period and then final pre-primary period from July 1 to July 21.

Please help if you can!

The Conservative Lady said...

Hi RK:
I just had to stop by and comment that there are already 171 votes this morning, and it's only the second day. Amazing!

Z said...

Peter Schiff is magical...he totally understood, predicted and warned about this Fall's economic disaster 2 years ago on FOX when all their experts were calling him nuts.

(can we only vote for one?)

WomanHonorThyself said...

worthwhile endeavor my friend! Happy Monday :)

RightKlik said...

NG:

Thank you!

Truth:

Unfortunately, Daria got zero votes the last time we put her in the poll. But any candidate who hasn't already won can be renominated, so if she gets enough nominations this week, she will be in the next poll.

TCL:

Anna Little is rockin' the vote! Supporters for other candidates need to campaign hard :)

Z:

I hope Schiff wins one of our polls before the primary in August.

I can set up the pool allow people to vote for multiple candidates in the future. I should probably take a close look at that.

WHT:

Thank you!

Dear Right Klik,

I am a Marylander who is supporting a proven, tried and true Conservative, Commissioner Eric Wargotz, M.D. . A constitutional Reagan-type republican running for U.S. Senate with ties to the tea party groups, who lowered our taxes twice, increased government transparency, and shrunk county government. Please consider him for the "Ten Buck Fridays: Fresh Poll" Many of us believe he is the only candidate in the crowded field who can beat Mikulski. You will be surprised by the volume of votes he would get in your poll. He is very popular here creating a "buzz" but also needs your help. www.wargotz.com

4 of the 7 candidates I officially endorsed throughout the country are on this poll, so I'm doing something right. Vijay Kumar, Anna Little, Alan West, and Star Parker are all superstars. We need to help each and every one of these candidates if we want to get our country back.

RightKlik said...

Thanks Gladys. The conservative candidates with the most nominations will make it on the list next week. Please encourage other supporters to submit their nominations as well.

Nominations can be submitted here or at the Ten Buck Fridays facebook page: http://is.gd/d8UPj

Thanks Jeff...

I hope that everyone who participates in TBF this week will contribute to the winner. Like you, I think there's more than one candidate on the list who deserves and needs lots of grassroots support ASAP.

I will be contributing to the winner, and at least one other TBF candidate this week. I hope others will consider doing the same.

Liz Carter is the leading Republican Candidate for the 4th Congressional District in Georgia which covers much of the Eastern part of Metro Atlanta. Our Primary is July 20th. There are three other Candidates in her Primary and while
she will probably come in 1st she needs the funds NOW to make sure that she reaches the 50% + 1 Majority to win outright and avoid a runoff. Liz is running to flip the District from the Democrat Party and its former Representative Cynthia McKinney and current Representative Hank (Guam is tipping over) Johnson. Liz is exactly the kind of person that District 4 needs: A Businesswoman, a Fiscal Conservative, and an outspoken Defender of our Rights under the Constitution. America needs Liz as one more Voice and Vote to help win back the House. Please visit LizCarterForCongress.com

My family and friends would like to see Dr. Eric Wargotz (R), Conservative from Maryland running for US Senate 2010, on the poll for next week. He is our best Conservative hope to unseat the entrenched incumbent in 2010. He makes her nervous already!
