Tyranny in America — Updated

Where's the outrage? Why do 56% of voters say they approve of Obama's performance so far? Obama is making up the rules as he goes along:

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live under tyranny? Now you know. We are no longer a nation governed by the rule of law. We now have the rule of Obama. America isn't bothered by this. Get ready for despotism.

Update: I understand any hesitance to use the word "tyranny". Inflammatory language strains credibility if not used appropriately and sparingly; but in this case, I believe tyranny is the appropriate word.

Tyranny... "oppressive power; especially oppressive power exerted by government"

Going by that definition I'd say we're there. It's a soft tyranny to be sure, but it's getting more serious every day. We now have a president who has no respect for the Constitution, contracts, or the rule of law. He has publicly stated his preference for redistributing the fruits of your labor.

What would be the most appropriate way to describe Obama's approach? Obama calls it "ruthless pragmatism." Is ruthless pragmatism any kinder or gentler than tyranny?

No need to get ready for despotism, it already has arrived on our shores. It's funny when this 'person' was elected, I was so discouraged that I tuned out for a bit. It wasn't until I started my blog that I put my activist cap back on. One of the first times that I actually had to transcribe one of his press meetings, I had an epiphany. This man is an imposter, this isn't the America that I once knew

LCR: It's easy to get discouraged. I just hope I can play some tiny role in defeating Obama in 2012.

You know RK, every time that I mention Obie's economic fascism someone ERUPTS in righteous indignation. Thus far his economic policies have been outright fascist! It's a blend of Mussolini and Pinochet.

Jingoist: We owe it to the ignorant to keep repeating the truth. One day they'll ask us: "Why didn't anybody warn us about what would happen?"

Yes indeed!! Where's the outrage?

Not sure if the tyranny is here yet,but are well on our way. I just hope that 2010 will produce enough legislators to hold back the tide of tyranny.

RightKlik, "why didn't anybody warn us?" they said that in Germany once, too.
I used to ask my husband "there are SO many people in N Korea, why don't they just RISE UP against the government?"
I get it now.

LB: I suppose the outrage is bubbling up, e.g., the tea parties, but it's not nearly as big as it should be.

CS: I understand any hesitance to use the word "tyranny". Inflammatory language strains credibility if not used appropriately and sparingly, but in this case, I believe tyranny is the appropriate word.

BHO makes up the rules as he goes, to suit his political needs.

Despotism: "a system of government in which the ruler has unlimited power."

We're not there yet, but we're getting closer.

Z: Yes, it's like the proverbial frog in boiling water.

No,you got it right, this is tyranny in its rawest form. But,it isn't just tyranny, but bulling a state by disrespecting its state rights to govern itself.

Obama, who,as we are reminded by his admirers, was a teacher of Constitutional law,yet he seems to have missed a few classes while attending his Ivy League university. Like the parts about the Bill of Rights.

And like you stated to LCR,we should not get discourged, but fired up and motivated for 2010 and 2012 elections, with the objective in taking back our country and restoring the Rule of Natural Rights and Common Law.

CS: Keep up the good fight.

I agree with you RightKlik and other posters! Barry O is a tyrant of the WORST order. He makes a mockery of the presidentcy and our forefathers are spinning in their graves all the way to China (which all but owns us now).

Daily our freedoms are being eroded while BHO rewrites the constitution and stacks the deck with his Chicago cronies. They can't even pay their taxes, and they extort the banks who won't capitualate to them. I am so sadded & disgusted w/how he has decimated our laws and contracts and just everything good about the USA. Don't get me started, I could go on for ages.

I tried to warn people in my blog way back before November, but they were deluded with hopium and drank that koolaid. How his approval rating is still so high is unbelievable - but then again, these are the same dolts that elected him in the first place.

I can't wait until we get rid of him, if we have any country left after he gets thru trashing it.
Everytime I turn on the TV and see him, I want to puke....I change the channel and put on TBN or something. The MSM gives him such a pass, it's sickening.

Keep spreading the truth and maybe the clueless masses will wake up in time for 2012 - or before we are nuked to kingdom come. GOD help and Bless us all! We need it!

You _must_ read this if you want to know what's going on.

Be sure you read this link, which is in the above article. It's very long, very enlightening. Like Prego..."it's in there"!

WHT: We've got to turn this around while we still have a chance!

AB: Great comments...we have to keep educating the dolts! The message will get through to them eventually. In the meantime, its always nice to commiserate with like-minded thinkers.

Suek: Thanks for the links. Here's a shorter AmericanThinker link for anyone who's having trouble with the one above:

This is a very important point:

"What better way to disrupt, demoralize and divide that formidable group, and indeed the entire country, than to strike at the heart of this cherished bedrock Catholic institution?"

The second article...very interesting. Who knew Abraham Maslow had such dangerous ideas?

I don't think Obama missed any classes. I think he took extra classes and knows EXACTLY how to manipulate the system and what words to use so that some think he isn't manipulating. When he said change America, he meant CHANGE AMERICA! And when/if the left wakes up and asks what happened, Obama is going to tell them, "I told you I was going to Change America."

PDH: Americans are willingly trading their freedom for [perceived] security. It's an easy decision for Americans, because they're giving up freedoms that they don't even appreciate. They really don't even know what their constitutional rights are.
