Liberal Praise for ObamaCare

To paraphrase our friends over at Weasel Zippers, I've scoured the bowels of the left-wing blogosphere so you don't have to. Here are some of my favorite quotes from lefty bloggers, columnists and pols on the attractive features of ObamaCare:
  • This is essentially the collapse of health care reform in the United States Senate. Honestly the best thing to do right now is kill the Senate bill...
  • The insurance this bill will force Americans to buy will be poorly regulated, extremely expensive, junk insurance.
  • Real reform would significantly lower costs, improve the delivery of health care and give all Americans a meaningful choice of coverage. The current Senate bill accomplishes none of these.
  • Why are we even considering so gargantuan a social experiment when the nation is struggling to emerge from a severe recession?
  • The Senate bill’s excise tax is going to make most Americans’ health insurance considerably worse–pretty much by design.
  • Remember Obama's promise that we can all keep the insurance we have? The Senate bill contains an excise tax on employer-provided insurance, which is likely to encourage employers to change the policies they offer.
  • What the Senate is currently discussing will make healthcare more expensive for individuals, families, and businesses, with no check on the insurance companies and none of the systemic reforms that might fix the incentive problems.
  • Joe Lieberman's health care bill is worse than nothing. Kill it.
  • Unless Democratic leadership steps up to fix this misguided proposal, our only recourse will be to kill it.
  • From what we know about the bill, it is worse than passing nothing.
  • This rigid, intrusive and grotesquely expensive bill is a nightmare. Holy Hygeia, why can't my fellow Democrats see that the creation of another huge, inefficient federal bureaucracy would slow and disrupt the delivery of basic healthcare and subject us all to a labyrinthine mass of incompetent, unaccountable petty dictators?
  • Massively expanding the number of healthcare consumers without making due provision for the production of more healthcare providers means that we're hurtling toward a staggering logjam of de facto rationing. Steel yourself for the deafening screams from the careerist professional class of limousine liberals when they get stranded for hours in the jammed, jostling anterooms of doctors' offices. They'll probably try to hire Caribbean nannies as ringers to do the waiting for them.
  • I made it clear that I think that no bill is better than a bad bill and the bill just keeps getting worse. The oligarchy will make sure there is no real reform until the entire system collapses. I can't support any bill that forces people to buy insurance from the sociopaths of the private insurance industry.
  • A second issue souring me on this bill is its failure to include the most common-sense clause to increase competition and drive down prices: portability of health insurance across state lines. What covert business interests is the Democratic leadership protecting by stopping consumers from shopping for policies nationwide?
  • No healthcare bill is worth the paper it's printed on when the authors ostentatiously exempt themselves from its rules. The solipsistic members of Congress want us peons to be ground up in the communal machine, while they themselves gambol on in the flowering meadow of their own lavish federal health plan. Hypocrites!
  • This bill won't do anything to contain costs. The overall cost of health insurance will increase just as fast* with the bill as without it. The only difference is, taxpayers will be covering a greater portion of the cost.

Incredibly, even among the uninsured, there’s an even split on the question of whether their health care would be better after reform.

Conservatives, moderates, liberals, the voters & the GOP agree: Kill the Bill!

Economic penalties of ObamaCare are so severe that it will be difficult for people to increase their earnings.

Howard Dean is on to something with this "KILL THE BILL" mantra.

Just remember that not everyone who comments on a leftie blog is a leftie or insane.
(But, then, I repeat myself!)

DaBlade: Honest lefties know this bill is trash.

Proof: The quotes are from the lefty bloggers themselves.
