Palin Wins

Votes against Romney in red, votes against Palin in green.

Who needs primaries and caucuses? The results are in. By process of elimination, RightKlik readers have chosen their favorite for the race against Obama in 2012.

We started with ten potential GOP candidates and eliminated the weaker links one by one through RightKlik's unpatented process of reverse determination:

Ron Paul eliminated in Round 1
Newt Gingrich and Charlie Crist eliminated in Round 2
Mike Huckabee eliminated in Round 3
John Thune eliminated in Round 4
Eric Cantor eliminated in Round 5
Mark Sanford eliminated himself in Round 6
Bobby Jindal eliminated in Round 7

In the final poll, Sarah Palin avoided elimination and beat Mitt Romney by a razor-thin margin.

"If nominated by the GOP, which of the following Republicans would be LESS likely to beat Obama in 2012?"

Thanks to everyone who participated.

Bah, the best candidate was Ron Paul, who ya'll eliminated in the first round.

Bad thing is, mainline conservatives just like the media dismissed him at every turn.

Free markets anyone?

Cappy: If I could choose who would be president, it would be Jim DeMint. But as far as I know, he isn't interested in running. And if he did, I don't think he'd have the star power to outshine Obama. Unfortunately, to be president, you now have to have celebrity status.

By the way...I think you'd like this video: http://tr.im/ru3n

I agree with Cappy, Ron Paul should and could beat Obama.

Ron Paul had near-celebrity status, and got more donations from U.S. troops than anyone else last year.

Perhaps, though, the office doesn't deserve him.

While I have come to like Ron Paul, and agree with many of his ideas,he does lack that polish shine the sheeple demad from a president. To be able to speak well,to put on a good show and appear to be intellegent.

While Dr,Paul is very smart,he isn't the best speaker, which doesn't bother me,but the sheeple are.

Just thinking out loud is all. But,perhaps,Ron Paul and Palin could run a campaign together, that would be a great team.

I'm surprised that Ron Paul was beaten in an Internet poll!
Someone's supply of tinfoil must have run out!

Proof, are you saying that Ron Paul's supporters are "tinfoil hat" wearers?

I find that unnecessarily degrading, and rather confusing; perhaps you'd care to explain your comment?

the voting was FUN! Would that our votes for either of them REALLY happen in 2012!!!

Jim DeMint ROCKS.......

Son3: It will be interesting to see what Ron Paul decides to do in 2012. I suspect he will have to take his age into account.

CS: You're exactly right. The sheeple are the problem. They really expect someone who can put on a good show. We haven't had a low profile, mild mannered prez since Jimmy Carter. Nobody wants to repeat that mistake.

Proof: I think by working backwards with the polling we got some unexpected results.

Z: Glad you enjoyed it. We'll have to do it in another couple of years.

WHT: ...and Congress too.

I'd like to see a Jindal-Palin or Romney-Jindal ticket. All three are FANTASTIC candidates.

Cappy, Ron Paul does say some great things about free markets and free people. Real conservatives like myself LOVE what he has to say about the role of government in our lives! That's not the problem. He's a kook whose followers have a STRONG kook element.

I dealt with some of his followers in DC at the July 4th tax party. They shoved their "9-11 was an inside job" signs in front of the cameras at every opportunity. Hey, THANKS Paulistas!

Jingoist: Of any ticket I can imagine, I think the Romney/Jindal combo would have the greatest chance of beating Obama.

well my personal fave would be Marsha Blackburn / Sarah Palin

I would love to have Ron Paul/Sarah Palin

I dont mind Jindal, I like DeMint.

and for those looking for the tinfoil...I HAVE ALL OF IT MWAA HAA HAA

KOOK: While I think Romney/Jindal would have a good chance of giving BHO a run for his money, what I'd really like to see is DeMint/Jindal. But a DeMint/Jindal ticket probably has about a 0.001% chance of materializing and an even smaller probability of defeating the Obaminator.

I should learn more about Blackburn. I'm on the other side of her state.

No one's mentioned Rick Perry, Governor of Texas. That guy is the REAL DEAL!

JINGOIST: I haven't started following Perry very closely yet, but I like what I have heard about him.

The over the top assaults on Sarah Palin WILL be the left's standard operating procedure against any GOP candidate in 2012! We know Sarah can weather that storm. I could see Ron Paul withstanding it, only because he has VERY enthusiastic supporters. Mitt Romney would be dog food in about .005 seconds.

If the GOP hopes to reclaim the White House in 2012, they had better go with a real fighter, eunuchs likes Romney and Pawlenty need not apply.

RightKlik said...

Clifton B: I'm not sure how tough Romney is, but I really don't see Pawlenty pulling through. I don't know much about Pawlenty, but my instincts tell me he would put up a very weak fight against Obama. He could be the Bob Dole of 2012.
