Obama's Massive Approval Ratings

The latest polls indicate that 73% of Americans have a favorable opinion of Barack Obama. Only 14.8% of Americans have an unfavorable opinion of Obama.  That's approximately one in seven.

So this is it.  Take note.  Only 15% of Americans have proven themselves to be thoroughly resistant to the Obama hype.  Only 15% of Americans remember what Obama said during his campaign, care about the future of this country and have a reasonable grasp on reality.  Only 15% of Americans are paying attention.

Fifteen percent of Americans have taken note of the fact that Obama will spend $160 million on his inauguration party (four times the amount that triggered Democrat angst when W was inaugurated) and have asked, "Is this what Obama meant when he said he plans to spread the wealth around?"  The other 85% of Americans apparently think we have elected a monarch.

One American sees the silly "Office of the President Elect" sign on Obama's little podium and thinks "What a narcissist.  Our nation is in his hands?"  ...Six other Americans are mesmerized by the sound of Obama's voice.

Obama promises to create 4.1 million jobs out of thin air.  He wants to meet with dictators and anti-American leaders.  He plans to put the coal industry out of business.  He wants to send the government in to do the heavy lifting and let the private sector pick up the loose ends.  Obama has big, bold, bad ideas. Only 15% of Americans hear these promises and plans and say "this guy is either a demagogue or a fool."  The other 85% of Americans think that Obama is supernatural

Fifteen percent of Americans observe Obama's selective use of the "one president at a time" rule and wonder what will happen when Obama really is in charge.

Fifteen percent of Americans are taking America's future very seriously.  Can 15% of America hold it all together for the other 85%?

It’s amazing that Andrew Cuomo, who owes his whole career to his dad, may not get the Senate seat of Hillary Rodham Clinton (who owes her whole career to her husband) because David Paterson (who owes his whole career to his dad) may give it to Caroline Kennedy (who owes her whole career to her dad). You would think a state as large as New York could find someone who deserves something on his or her own."

Only 15 percent of Americans are aware that Harry Reid is the Senate majority leader.

Thanks for the article round-up. Good stuff as usual.

Obama... He's been set up for failure as I've said before and I really feel bad for him. Human ego finds buying into celebrity easy and its to Obama's credit that he's so restrained at it. I think his words merely look more impressive because the MSM has played him up so much anything he says will sound impressive. He could read the ingredients off a bottle of ketchup and it would be greeted with oohs and aahs.

He's going to find it impossible to live up to the task of fixing a problem that is unfixable because the MSM has the people believing it is, and because it doesn't even exist in the first place.

The Dalai Lama is still showing himself to be the wise smart cookie I've always known. He's the Spock of humanity, always with the clear logical thoughts on a highly illogical mankind. I might not always agree with everything he says as I take a bit more brutal view of the world, but he has no ego aforethought and is a truly conscientious man.

Obama could learn from the DL who is similar in that the masses and media have played him up to nearly godlike status and he's simply let their adoration slide off and stuck to being his committed disciplined self.

Dang RK. You did it again. Every time I roll by here, I can't help but think, "Man, I wish I'd have written that!"

So, you prefer to think that 85% of your fellow citizens are idiots unable to think for themselves and you're one of the few Elect who are Wise and All-Knowing? Really? Isn't that, in itself, a bit narcissistic?

SP: "He could read the ingredients off a bottle of ketchup and it would be greeted with oohs and aahs." SO true. Reminds me of the movie "Being There" "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Being_There

Thanks, DaBlade

DT: Welcome back.
"So, you prefer to think that 85% of your fellow citizens are idiots."

No, but may of them are. Of the 85% who don't disapprove of Obama, some are ignorant, some aren't paying close attention, some don't care, some are shortsighted, some have been swept up by emotion, some are in it for personal gain, and some are idiots.

And here I am - well-read, reasonable, long-sighted Christian father and husband who embraces simple living and ethical sobriety? Which do you suspect I am?

Do you suppose I'm swept up by emotions? That I'm an idiot? That I'm in it for personal gain? Do you have any evidence for such observations? I'd suggest not.

Sure, there are some idiots who support Obama, and some who have supported Bush. But there's nothing to suggest that folk support Obama in general for any reason other than they believe it to be the most righteous, sensible path.

Dan: I can't possibly know why you might support Obama. Maybe you have a puritan inclination to which he appeals. I can only speculate.

You say you are a well-read, reasonable, long-sighted Christian father and husband who embraces simple living and ethical sobriety, and your comments have always reflected that self-description.

So, what I don't understand is why you wouldn't want a government that reflects your sensible values.

Perhaps you think Obama will help create a government that DOES reflect those values.

Really? How does a $170 million inauguration party fit into a life of simple living? How does it fit in with a desire to achieve your vision of economic justice?

Long sighted? Obama promises to drown us (and future generations) in TRILLIONS of dollars of additional debt. Is that the long sightedness you are cheering for?

Ethical sobriety? I fail to understand how Obama's tacit support for infanticide fits within any reasonable person's ethical framework.

Do you know someone who supports Obama because he/she believes it to be THE most righteous, sensible path? That person must have access to information that is not at my disposal.
