Tough Love from Ben Franklin

Benjamin Franklin on "spreading the wealth" around...

I am for doing good to the poor, but I differ in opinion of the means. I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it. In my youth I travelled much, and I observed in different countries, that the more public provisions were made for the poor, the less they provided for themselves, and of course became poorer. And, on the contrary, the less was done for them, the more they did for themselves, and became richer.

After hundreds of years of failed redistribution, the nuts on the left still don't understand these simple concepts.

Decimating the Left: Plan of Attack*

There are some promising signs for an opportunity to double decimate the left-wing in November. With any luck, Congressional Democrats might even be triple decimated in the next election. That's the potential good news.

Now the bad news: It's time to come to terms with the fact that we're not just fighting leftists and Democrats.

We're fighting lazy, cowardly Republicans who see how unpopular the Obama agenda is, but who are afraid do anything about it.

We're fighting Republicans who think that conservatism means conserving Obamacare.

We're fighting Big Pharma, the AMA, the American Hospital Association, the AARP, the Business Roundtable and individual companies such as Wal-Mart.

American Thinker has some good suggestions for the fight ahead. These suggestions were designed for Tea Partiers, but they apply to all conservatives:

1. To paraphrase Bill Clinton advisor James Carville, "It's the primaries, Stupid." Tea Partiers should focus only on primaries now, and not focus on the upcoming November elections just yet. In the primaries, challenge every establishment, big-government incumbent. Conservatives winning in primaries will make the November elections a more significant chance for meaningful, long-term change. Over half of the filing deadlines have not yet passed.

2. Support candidates who will vote to fire their party leaders.

3. Withhold support from all national committees, and give your donations directly to principled conservative candidates.

4. In addition to running and supporting candidates for public office, run for every possible party office. The best way to get a political party to change is to take it over.

5. Read and study the Constitution, the Federalist Papers, and other writings of the Founders, as well as the writings of great but more recent conservative thinker-activists such as Mark Levin...and others. Tea Partiers will then better know who they are politically, will better understand what they believe, and will possess even better clarity about why they believe it. By reading conservative thinker-activist writings from the past half-century, Tea Partiers will be better able to educate, enlist, convert, and successfully debate others.

6. See where politicians stand on key issues (remember, though, that politicians will tell you what you want to hear)

7. Get ten to twenty-five other people involved; and

8. Make sure that the ten to twenty-five are registered and vote.

9. Be sure to vote on November 2.

Time to Leave the Country

This year, nearly half of US households will escape the federal income tax. That's a pretty sweet deal if you can get it, but for those who pick up the slack, redistribution feels more like robbery.

As the IRS gets tougher on the more productive segment of our population, more Americans are severing U.S. Ties.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the number of people who renounced U.S. citizenship or permanent residency in the fourth quarter of 2009 (the most recent period for which data are available) was twice as large as the total number expatriations in 2008.

There are complicated reasons for this development, but as tax day approaches, this news might encourage more Americans to think about looking for greener pastures.

Which nations enjoy the most economic freedom? Here are the top 5, according to the Heritage Foundation:
  • Hong Kong
  • Singapore
  • Australia
  • New Zealand
  • Ireland
Sadly, the U.S. of A. is only #8.

The Heritage Foundation's 2010 Index of Economic Freedom was determined on the basis of ten components: business freedom, trade freedom, fiscal freedom (based on tax rates), government spending, monetary freedom, investment freedom, financial freedom (determined by government influence), property rights, freedom from corruption, labor freedom.

Question of the day:

If you were to leave the United States to go live somewhere else, where would you go?

No Health Care For You!

The Democrats' buddies at the New York Times are now singing the virtues of bureaucratic rationing and health care denial panels via the Federal Government:

The federal government is now starting to build the institutions that will try to reduce the soaring growth of health care costs. There will be a group to compare the effectiveness of different treatments, a so-called Medicare innovation center and a Medicare oversight board that can set payment rates...

So figuring out how we can say no may be the single toughest and most important task facing the people who will be in charge of carrying out reform. “Being able to say no,” Dr. Alan Garber of Stanford says, “is the heart of the issue.”

...It’s easy to come up with arguments for why we need to do so. Above all, we don’t have a choice. Giving hospitals and drug makers a blank check will bankrupt Medicare.

Well there you go...we don't have a choice. The Federal Government must make the life-and-death decisions for you.

But wait a minute! Didn't the left-wingers say that health care is a right?

Now that ObamaCare is law, I guess the Democrats will become known as the party of "no."

No health care for you!

Left-Wing Racism Against Black Conservative Tea Party Supporters

Angela McGlowan, GOP Candidate (MS-01) speaking at a Tea Party

I have a dream that one day leftists will not judge people by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.

A recent article from the AP reminds us that we probably will not see that day any time soon:

They've been called Oreos, traitors and Uncle Toms, and are used to having to defend their values. Now black conservatives are really taking heat for their involvement in the mostly white tea party movement—and for having the audacity to oppose the policies of the nation's first black president.

The author of the AP article goes on to reinforce the false stereotypes created by the left-wing media and puts her own ignorance on display:

As a nascent grassroots movement with no registration or formal structure, there are no racial demographics available for the tea party movement; it's believed to include only a small number of blacks and Hispanics.

This is absolutely false. Polling results released by Gallup on April 5 show that in terms of age, educational background, employment status, and race — Tea Partiers are quite representative of the public at large:

With a margin of sampling error of ±4 percentage points, these demographic data show that the Tea Party is a mirror image of the population.

While desperate Democrats continue to propagate lies about Tea Party inclusiveness, our black friend over at ABC refuses to crawl into the pigeonhole:

"You have to be honest and true to yourself. What am I supposed to do, vote Democratic just to be popular? Just to fit in?" asked Clifton Bazar, a 45-year-old New Jersey freelance photographer and conservative blogger.

Why I Like Obamcare

Random thoughts on the benefits and advantages of the Democrats' historic health care reform legislation:
  • I like ObamaCare because I think everyone is entitled to their fair share of crushing bureaucratic regulation...it's a fundamental human right.
  • ObamaCare will succeed where RomneyCare failed because it is TOTALLY different.
  • We have compelling evidence that Americans will live longer and more healthfully as a result of ObamaCare.
  • We can be very confident that per capita spending on health care will decrease as a result of the Democrats' health care legislation.
  • Self-serving politicians will usher in a new era of unprecedented efficiency in health care.
  • The U.S. Federal Government: "Thrifty, omniscient, virtuous."
  • Opposition to ObamaCare comes from the limbic system, not from the prefrontal cortex.
  • Anyone who disagrees with me is a vile, angry racist.

Leftists Use Violent Rhetoric in Their Attack on an Anti-ObamaCare Doctor

A physician in Florida decided to send a message to the freeloaders and the redistributionists who support the Obama agenda. He posted a sign on his office door telling Obama voters to go away:

"I'm not turning anybody away — that would be unethical," Dr. Jack Cassell, 56, a Mount Dora urologist and a registered Republican opposed to the health plan, told the Orlando Sentinel on Thursday. "But if they read the sign and turn the other way, so be it."
The sign reads: "If you voted for Obama … seek urologic care elsewhere. Changes to your healthcare begin right now, not in four years.
Among conservatives, support for this kind of political speech appears to be overwhelmingly strong:
More surprisingly, with a total of almost 50,000 votes at the newspaper website where this story originated, reaction to the doctor's action was very favorable:

Less surprising has been the left-wing's apoplectic reaction to the story. One influential left-wing radical, "Shoq," has used violent rhetoric to encourage hateful intimidation:

"Florida Dr. tells Obama voters 'find [care] elsewhere.' http://bit.ly/bKO6QJ Slam him: 352-383-3773"

[emphasis added]

I thought about calling and slamming Shoq, but Shoq doesn't provide his own phone number...or his own email address. If you have any helpful information, please let me know.

Be vigilant. Together, we can stop left-wing violence and hate.

Added (6/25/12):

Meet Matt Edelstein AKA Shoq

Update:

More apoplexy! The left can dish it out, but they can't take it:

"Now the words 'slam him' is violent and hateful rhetoric. What the [expletive] ever with these [expletive] clownTards. I'm sick of them." ~Shoq

My favorite Alinsky rules:

Rule 4: Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules. You can kill them with this...

Rule 5: Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. It is almost impossible to counteract ridicule. It also infuriates the opposition, who then react to your advantage.

Crazy conspiracy theory or criminal scam? Did Democrats, the Huff Post & McClatchy conspire to smear Tea Party activists?

Why the Tea Party Will Fail

Did he cross his heart and hope to die?

Some wishful thinking from a Tea Party hater:

The Tea Partiers will fail because for them to succeed we would need to shred the US Constitution and start over. That would require a revolution, and that’s not going to happen.

You just have to examine what they stand for. They claim to be strict constitutionalists, but they can’t stop screaming that what Democrats are doing is unconstitutional – against the will of the people.

The Tea Partiers must have forgotten that Democrats won two elections – one in 2006 and another one in 2008.

Obama and Congressional Democrats campaigned on health care reform. So it’s disingenuous for the Tea Partiers to now claim that Democrats are defying the will of the people by pursuing the agenda that they campaigned on.

Time to school another left-wing hatriot.

First, let's remember that elections never authorize Congress to abuse the constitution.

Second, Obama and Congressional Democrats did NOT campaign on ObamaCare's key ingredients: the Cornhusker Kickback, Gatoraid, the Louisiana Purchase, backroom deals with BigPharma...or the unconstitutional "individual mandate." (In fact, Obama rightly campaigned against the individual mandate.)

Polls have made it very clear: ObamaCare is not the health care reform Americans had in mind when Democrats were campaigning in 2008.

Pelosi and her cronies campaigned against the "culture of corruption" and promised "open and honest government." I'm still waiting for that. The American people are still waiting for that. And we'll all remember the bribes and broken promises when we show up to vote in November.

But the left-wing extremists don't seem to care about the indignation of the American people. They temporarily assembled a caucus in Congress barely big enough to override the objections of the people, and they seized as much unconstitutional power as possible, as fast as they possibly could.

The problem with the left is that the left has no respect for the Constitution―the very document through which the people loan their power to the president and to Congress. The radical left defied the Constitution in order to advance their unpopular and reckless health care agenda, and now they're flaunting their disregard for the constraints of the supreme law of the land.

The Tea Party movement is a megaphone for those who have been disenfranchised by the radical left. That's why the Tea Party will succeed.
