Sarah Palin's Presidential Endorsement

This topic deserves a post of its own. Now that Palin is out, pundits and political junkies want to know: Who will she endorse? What do you think?

If you'd like to share this poll at your blog, fire me an email (rightklik at gmail).

Palin Will Not Run For President ― Endorsement Pending?

Read Palin’s letter:

After much prayer and serious consideration, I have decided that I will not be seeking the 2012 GOP nomination for President of the United States. As always, my family comes first and obviously Todd and I put great consideration into family life before making this decision. When we serve, we devote ourselves to God, family and country. My decision maintains this order.

Now we wait for the coveted presidential endorsement.

Until then, who do you think will win the prize?

Eliminate The Elephant: Week 2

We will eliminate Republican candidates one by one. Vote for the candidate you would LEAST like to run against Barack Obama. Names are in random order. We'll weed out candidates until the least contemptible candidate is the only one left:

Last week, we eliminated Newt Gingrich (he was begging for it), and Mitch Daniels eliminated himself.

Other candidates, such as Michele Bachmann, Rick Perry or John Bolton, will be added to the list in future elimination polls.

Hail Mary Pass for the GOP?

To paraphrase British historian Paul Johnson, I like the cut of this man's jib:
This is the Republican Party's best shot at sneaking in an actual true blue authentic conservative, who can take on all of Washington's sacred cows and then become the most vilified person in the country.

The man for that job is Sarah Palin.

Would a President Huckabee put his office and popularity on the line to take on the highly unpopular, yet urgently necessary issue of entitlement reform? Not likely.

Could you see a President Romney taking the risk of being vilified as a xenophobic racist by demanding an enforcement first approach to illegal immigration? No way, Jose.

How about a President Mitch Daniels going up to Alaska and drilling for oil like a crazed dentist? Good luck.

Sarah Palin? Check. Check. Check.
Why not offer Americans a candidate who is as far to the right as Obama is to the left? How about this rock star?

Help Renee Ellmers Now!

Renee Ellmers needs your help...now!
(Donate Here: http://is.gd/gIZAv)

Why?

Answer via The Other McCain:
That the GOP won the House is some kind of miracle, considering the total ineptitude of Pete Sessions and his crew of bumbling dingbats at the NRCC. Renee Ellmers beat Bob Etheridge in North Carolina. Now the Democrat is asking for a recount and Ellmers has gone public with the fact that the NRCC is MIA:
Months ago, I went to Washington and asked the National Republican Congressional Committee and many conservative leaders to help my campaign. Many conservative groups – like the Susan B. Anthony List, Concerned Women of America, Freedom Works, and Sarah Palin’s Sarah PAC all helped, but the NRCC declined. Later, they did support other campaigns in North Carolina – which, unfortunately, lost – but we never received their support. In fact, their spokesman told the press “that the campaign wasn’t ready for prime time” – which actually made it even harder for us to raise money. So, I am doubtful we will get support from the NRCC to help with the expense of the recount.
Read the rest of McCain's brutal but spot-on analysis.

Is the Ellmers strategy part of the GOP's supposedly-brilliant comeback plan, suspiciously lauded by the New York Times?

I just sent Renee $25. Please send what you can.

Left Wing Nut Job Detained at Miller Event; Progs Feign Apoplexy

Cross-posted at Left Coast Rebel

Tony Hopfinger, an irrational, out-of-control Left-Wing blogger-activist, was detained by security detail at a Joe Miller town hall meeting. Tony admits he started a shoving match with Miller security.

Left-wingers are clearly jubilant at the opportunity to ignore most of the facts and to pretend to be shocked:

Elizabeth Kennen: "Joe Miller displays his conservative principles - Liberty! Freedom! You're arrested for asking questions!"

Ian Richetti‎: "Joe Miller really doesn't comprehend that whole 'Freedom of the Press' thing. Liberty indeed."

koulflo: "joe miller, rand paul, christine o'donnell, sheryl angle, carl palladino, ron johnson. pretty much all haters."

Dan Riehl provides some essential background info on Tony and his blog, The Alaska Dispatch:
The Alaska Dispatch is not much more than the equivalent of a Lefty blog playing pretend journalists. They embarassed themselves when they came at me over the Murkowski cocaine allegations and appear to have a vested interest in trying to hurt Joe Miller's campaign for the Senate. At one point, this Tony Hopfinger was a HuffPo contributer, so it should be no surprise that they're covering Hopfinger's unhinged nonsense, too. You can Google him to see his many links to progressivism.
Thomas Lamb has more:
Yesterday afternoon I attended the Joe Miller Town Hall and it was a good event until it ended. When I attend these events, although I support Miller, I will hold a critical eye.

I will also stay in the back to observe the audience to see their reaction and I will also watch how the press act...

Here is what actually happened - Hopfinger was aggressive in his pursuit - Miller's security was trying to keep Hopfinger from Miller's path and at a distance so Miller could leave. As Miller's security tried to push Hopfinger out of Miller's path and keep him at a distance, Hopfinger kept pushing in on Miller.

Miller then reversed course and as he did, Tony began to follow Miller - two men in Miller's security detail stayed back and the scuffle between Hopfinger and the security detail began as a shoving match.

At that point Miller was gone from the scene....

There comes a point to where a person passes the point of getting answers to then becoming a person who is harassing an individual. And Tony Hopfinger crossed the line when it was clear Miller changed his direction because of Hopfinger engaging Miller's security detail in what started off as a shoving match.

What I also found interesting was the set-up that took place between blogger Jesse Griffin - who when leaving was asking where Tony was. Notably - Griffin was with the individual who asked the question on why Miller was a Welfare Queen.

And leave it to political hacks like Andrew Halcro to say Miller ordered the arrest - when Miller wasn't even there when the security team detained Hopfinger.
Read the rest of Lamb's eyewitness account here.

Statement from the Miller campaign:
While I've gotten used to the blog Alaska Dispatch's assault on me, I never thought it would lead to a physical assault. It's too bad that this blogger would take advantage of a "town hall" meeting to create a publicity stunt just two weeks before the election.

The Miller campaign was required by the facility to provide security at the event. Even though Joe had spent more than 40 minutes answering questions from those in attendance, the blogger chased Miller to the exit after the event concluded in an attempt to create and then record a "confrontation" with the candidate. While Miller attempted to calmly exit the facility, the blogger physically assaulted another individual and made threatening gestures and movements towards the candidate.

At that point, the security personnel had to take action and intervened and detained the irrational blogger, whose anger overcame him."

Sarah Palin’s Gentle Shade of Purple

Here's some good stuff from Tim Daniel (a.k.a. Left Coast Rebel), now writing for Pajama's Media:

"Long before Palin’s endorsement, Fiorina was seen as the far less purist-conservative candidate in the tea party age. The endorsement went directly against the grassroots current for Assemblyman Chuck DeVore, the failed primary candidate. Many DeVore fans and tea party activists expressed their dissatisfaction with Palin’s Fiorina-boost.

"But something beyond boiled-over tea party activist discontent was brewing.

"Palin’s endorsement motive was dubbed “feminist over tea partier.” This introduced a new dynamic into the race — an extension of Palin’s pink-elephant effort to mobilize the election success of conservative women across America. Riding the tea party wave, Palin sought challengers to the traditional liberal female office seeker..."

LL Cool J & Palin Together at Last? Cool J Says No!

Sarah Palin’s Fox News Special to feature L.L. Cool J?

This is not an April Fool’s joke. Sarah Palin will take her first stab at television hosting when she fronts a new Fox News series, Real American Stories, premiering Thursday April 1 at 10pmET.

Guests for the first show include country singer Toby Keith, rapper/actor LL Cool J and Jack Welch. Get excited.

The show will “focus on a range of such stories including a Marine Medal of Honor recipient who gave his live to save his comrades.” But also there will be the celebrity guests – a very broad range of celebrity guests.

But LL Cool J says it not happening. After I sent out a link about this story, Cool J (or someone with access to his verified account) sent me a terse tweet on Twitter claiming the story is false:

That tweet linked to this one:

Interesting. I suspect there are at least two sides to this. I suppose we will hear more about this story soon.

Palin Wins

Votes against Romney in red, votes against Palin in green.

Who needs primaries and caucuses? The results are in. By process of elimination, RightKlik readers have chosen their favorite for the race against Obama in 2012.

We started with ten potential GOP candidates and eliminated the weaker links one by one through RightKlik's unpatented process of reverse determination:

Ron Paul eliminated in Round 1
Newt Gingrich and Charlie Crist eliminated in Round 2
Mike Huckabee eliminated in Round 3
John Thune eliminated in Round 4
Eric Cantor eliminated in Round 5
Mark Sanford eliminated himself in Round 6
Bobby Jindal eliminated in Round 7

In the final poll, Sarah Palin avoided elimination and beat Mitt Romney by a razor-thin margin.

"If nominated by the GOP, which of the following Republicans would be LESS likely to beat Obama in 2012?"

Thanks to everyone who participated.

Obama's Approval Index Continues To Plummet

(Approval index = Strong Approval minus Strong Disapproval)

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll shows that 32% of the nation's voters now strongly approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. 37% strongly disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of –5.

Overall, 52% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance so far. Yesterday and today are the first time that the number of voters who approve of the President’s performance has slipped below the 53% share of the vote he won last November. Forty-eight percent now disapprove.

I guess Michelle O. can go back to being ashamed of her country.

Diamonds All Around Us

Grassroots vs. the establishment: Who will prevail? Jim DeMint has chosen to support the grassroots candidate. DeMint's conservative street cred is unsurpassed. Here's what he has to say:

"Once there was a poor farmer who wanted to become fabulously rich in the diamond trade. He deserted his farmland and traveled the world looking for diamonds until he was too old to look anymore. He returned home penniless, only to discover that the fields around his home were thick with flawless diamonds as big as your fist.

"The poor guy’s fortune had been right under his nose, but he had wasted his whole life looking everywhere but in his own backyard.

"That old story came back to me a few weeks ago when I met Marco Rubio. He’s the 38-year old former speaker of the Florida House of Representatives running for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Mel Martinez next year. Rubio is the most impressive conservative leader I have met in a long time, a natural leader with an inspiring personal story and an even more inspiring vision for Florida and America.

"He is at once a principled conservative and an accomplished legislator with a proven record of building broad coalitions to champion fiscal discipline, economic growth, and the American values of family, faith, and freedom.

"For months now, Republicans have been looking around, asking everyone they meet who our next leaders will be. And somehow, inexplicably, many of us have grown blind to the diamonds all around us. There are already many young, conservative leaders ready to fight for freedom in Washington and in state capitals all around the country. But we’ll never find them if we only look for well-known politicians or choose our party’s direction based on the latest polls instead of timeless principles..."
