Leftist Misogyny

Highlighting the hypocrisy and misogyny of the left:

Not to be outdone by the men, Randi Rhodes proves she can be as savage and hateful as her liberal brethren:

...but hate and misogyny are only a problem when they're perceived to be coming from conservatives.

I'm tempted to make a snarky remark about castrating liberal men, but for well-known reasons, jokes of that nature have no basis in reality:

Left Wing Thought Police Win: Limbaugh Under Brutal Attack

Rush Limbaugh is under attack for mocking the Democrats' newest spokesslut, Sandra Fluke. A role model for upscale sluts all over America, Sandra Fluke wants more government in her bedroom and more government in your wallet.

Under pressure from the Democrat mob, advertisers and Republicans, Limbaugh was forced to apologize for accurately characterizing Sandra Fluke as a greedy slut.

A number of companies are pulling their advertising from the Rush Limbaugh radio show under pressure from left wing extremists who think conservatives don't have the right to speak:

Even if you believe that the word "slut" is a bit too harsh for a woman who wants government to force taxpayers and Christian institutions to pay for her abortions and sex accessories, do you think progressive extremists should be allowed to silence conservatives?

Do you think that these advertisers should penalize conservative satire while subsidizing progressive hate speech?

This hurts conservatives. It could have a chilling effect on conservative debate and conservative satire.

Left wing extremists will continue to abuse this tactic until we push back hard enough to make it stop.

Circle the wagons.

Warren Buffett and The Limbaugh Rule

I'm racking my brain trying to remember: When was Warren Buffett was elected to speak for anyone?

While refusing to put his billions where his mouth is (with a voluntary infusion of his own money to the U.S. Treasury), Buffett has lobbied relentlessly for higher taxes for financially successful Americans, many of whom hold only a tiny fraction of the wealth that Buffett enjoys.

To the best of my knowledge, Warren Buffett has never been elected to any government position, but Obama is pushing Congress to establish Buffett's punitive taxation scheme, a.k.a. the "Buffett Rule."

Can you imagine what would happen if a conservative Republican president promoted this sort of legislative gratification for his or her controversial supporters?

How about a minimum tax for the 47% of Americans who pay no income tax at all. We could call that the "Limbaugh Rule." Tax the poor! Shouldn't everyone pay his fair share?

Speaking of paying a fair share, I find it hard to imagine that George Soros feels that he's sending enough to Uncle Sam. Make it easy for him. Take a billion dollars a year until he says to stop. Call that the "Koch Brothers Tax."

When that tax has been implemented, we can move on to repeal the "Eisenhower tax cut" on the movie industry. Call that the "Instapundit Rule."

While we're at it, lets allow all taxpayers under the age of 55 to opt out of Social Security and Medicare. COMPLETELY. You can call that the "RightKlik Fairness for the Future Initiative."

Shameless partisan pandering -- apparently it's only okay if Dems do it.

From Limbaugh's Lips To America's Ears: Americans Say Obama Will Fail

Rush Limbaugh's hopes have become America's expectations:
Washington (CNN) - President Barack Obama enters the new year with a growing number of Americans pessimistic about his policies and a growing number rooting for him to fail, according to a new national poll...

"Twelve months ago a majority of the public said that they thought Obama's policies would succeed; now that number has dropped to 44 percent, with a plurality predicting that his policies will likely fail."
Americans are also glad that the Dems' monopoly on power has been busted, but their expectations for the GOP's performance is low:
...while a majority of the public says Republican control of the House of Representatives is good for the country, only one in four say the GOP will do a better job running things than the Democrats did when they controlled the chamber.
Good. Keep the expectations low and the leashes short.

Discussion: Memeorandum

Updates:

Raw numbers on the failure question:

In general, do you think it is more likely that Obama's policies will succeed or more likely that his policies will fail?

Succeed 44%
Fail 47%

In general, do you hope that Barack Obama's policies will succeed or do you hope that his policies will fail?

Succeed 61%
Fail 27%

More bad news for progs: Americans have more confidence in Republicans in Congress than in Obama or the Democrats. In fact, Republicans crush the Democrats...
Thinking about the major issues facing the country today, who do you have the most confidence in -- Barack Obama, or the Republicans in Congress, or the Democrats in Congress?

Obama 35%
Republicans in Congress 40%
Democrats in Congress 15%

Some "glass half empty" analysis from an astute commenter at Gateway Pundit:
So… 35% of the people are mentally ill? That’s really sad.

Add the 35% to the 15% who think the Pelosi/Reid Congress is just ducky, and this country is in serious trouble.

Caveats:

1. CNN reports that a growing number of Americans are "rooting" for Obama to fail, but in their poll they ask respondents whether they hope Obama's policies fail, not whether Mr. Obama fails:
In general, do you hope that Barack Obama's policies will succeed or do you hope that his policies will fail?

2. This poll does not reflect the views of the voters:
Interviews with 1,008 adult Americans conducted by telephone by Opinion Research Corporation on December 17-19, 2010. The margin of sampling error for results based on the total sample is plus or minus 3 percentage points.
Remember... polls of the general adult population generally give results that are more sympathetic to Democrats (in contrast to polls that only include Americans who vote).

3. Demographic data on the poll sample are conspicuously absent.

Ten Buck Fridays: Congratulations Chip Cravaack!

This week the TBF poll results were tighter than ever before... but Chip Cravaack was the winner!

Please rally behind this week's winner and give generously to Chip! (As shown below, don't forget to note "Ten Buck Fridays" in the occupation field.)

Chip Cravaack is running to unseat an eighteen-term incumbent, Rep. Jim Oberstar (D-MN). Chip introduces himself in this video:

My interest was especially piqued with this comment:

"It's going to take every American, every person in district 8 to take our country back. And it starts with every Congressional seat, every Senate seat that's available. And we need every seat. Because we need to get our country back."

As Lilac Sunday eloquently noted earlier this week in her open letter to Rush Limbaugh, this is exactly why TBF exists:

Dear Rush,

You've said that we should nationalize every House and Senate race in 2010. Well, I want to let you know that there is a small but growing group of bloggers who are trying to do just that. The effort is called Ten Buck Fridays.

Ten Buck Fridays is a small-d democratic moneybomb project of the patriotic blogosphere. Back in May, a blogger called Conscientiously Conservative declared her intent to donate $10 to a different worthy national Congressional candidate each week, and the concept is spreading across the web.

Each week, voters decide which conservative Congressional candidate needs their support the most, and everyone is encouraged to donate what they can to the winner. There is no middleman, no national committee; anyone motivated to donate sends their support to the candidates directly. The poll that closed last Friday morning was carried on 60 blogs and received over 2000 votes...

As of now, at least 65 blogs have helped to spread the word about Ten Buck Fridays, and over 2,600 people voted in this week's poll!

Again, TBF congratulates Chip Cravaack on his win. Please send him some of your hard-earned money so that he can go to Congress and fight against the Democrats' extreme agenda...
