Obama on his plan for higher taxes: "It's not that I want to punish your success...I think that when we spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody."
Good for everybody? No. Good for anybody? Hardly. Is this guy familiar with the tragedy of the commons or operant conditioning? Probably. But, this isn't really about coming up with plans that are good for everybody, is it?
Do rational, healthy societies allow their citizens to reap the rewards of their good decisions and feel at least some of the stinging consequences of their bad decisions? Or do I have it all wrong?
