Todd Starnes: It was co-written by a parent who has a child on the team. [Bryan] Glover, 26, said he emailed a copy of the song to friends, family members and player’s parents through his personal email account.
And that’s when all the trouble started for the self-described independent conservative. “The coach called me and said parents were upset – that I was being politically incorrect and the song had racial overtones,” Glover told FOX News Radio. “An hour and a half later I was told I was being terminated.”
“I was informed that I was being let go because of the song,” he said, denying claims there were any racial overtones in the song.
I fully expect Obama to weigh in on this local issue. Obama's cherished commitment to the First Amendment will compel him to defend Mr. Glover.
Let me be clear. As a citizen, and as president, I believe that independent conservatives have the right to express their political views as EVERYONE ELSE in this country.
That includes the right to email wholesome music videos to friends, family and other associates, in accordance with local laws and ordinances.
This is America, and our commitment to freedom of speech must be unshakable. The principle that people of all political persuations are welcome in this country, and that they will not be treated differently by their government, is essential to who we are. The writ of the Founders must endure.
Some will argue that Glover crossed the line by distributing his song via parents' email addresses that presumably came from from the school’s system, but as the Lonely Conservative points out, that's a big load of [stuff]. We all know that creepy, school-approved pro-Obama propaganda is pumped directly to students in government schools on a regular basis.
- Each student will find his/her voice and become a leader in their generation
- Every student will have a place within our community to feel accepted
- Every student will have an activity whereby they feel competent
- Every student will be viewed as normal within the eyes of their peers
Update II: Glover in his own words...
