Nothing good can come of this . . .

George Tiller, abortion doc, killed at church.

Per Robert P. George:

Whoever murdered George Tiller has done a gravely wicked thing. The evil of this action is in no way diminished by the blood George Tiller had on his own hands. No private individual had the right to execute judgment against him. We are a nation of laws. Lawless violence breeds only more lawless violence. Rightly or wrongly, George Tilller was acquitted by a jury of his peers. "Vengeance is mine, says the Lord." For the sake of justice and right, the perpetrator of this evil deed must be prosecuted, convicted, and punished. By word and deed, let us teach that violence against abortionists is not the answer to the violence of abortion. Every human life is precious. George Tiller's life was precious. We do not teach the wrongness of taking human life by wrongfully taking a human life. Let our "weapons" in the fight to defend the lives of abortion's tiny victims, be chaste weapons of the spirit.

— Robert P. George is McCormick Professor of Jurisprudence at Princeton University.

This is exactly what the hippie pro abortionists need for their cause, some dumbass who should never have had a gun in his hand in the first place.

This not only makes it look like an attack from the right, but also gives them a martyr for banning guns.

Agree with bluepitbull and with you. This is going to be ugly!

And good Lord - why, why, why in church?

I debated to write about this evening. I have so many mixed emotions about this one. I am not happy or thrilled over his death. It saddens me. I too looked at this through the eyes of a Christian while asking questions about his church and the message they are preaching. They may be partially to blame in that their message never got through to Tiller. Of course, this doesn't justify this horrendous act.

This will be more justification for the MAIC report, the fight against the Second Amendment, and laws which allow peaceful protesters like Reverend Hoye to be arrested for holding a sign too close to a clinic. This fuels the current right robbing legislation currently in Congress. Whoever his killer is, we will all pay for his selfishness and his lack of wisdom as to God's wishes.

Blue: a terribly convenient propaganda tool.

Adrienne: What a coward this murderer was.

BB: I am very much at a loss for words.

I agree, this will only be used against us conservatives in the persuite to demonize us as radicals extremist or terrorist.

We need to distance ourselves from this,by condemning it for what it is, criminal.

Tiller the Baby Killer was as close to Adolph Hitler as any American has ever been. Still, it would have been wrong to murder Hitler in a church.

We have a system of laws. Sometimes that system works. Sometimes, as in the case of Tiller, it does not. When it doesn't, that doesn't give us the right to take the law into our own hands.

I agree 100%. Sometimes our system works very poorly. As conservatives we are obliged to fix the system, not tear it down.

I am a disabled Vietnam Veteran, conservative and pro- 2nd Amendment gun owner.
But what the shooter did was to throw gas on the fire and give the abortion people plenty of ammunition to go after Pro-Life Christians. God will "repay" those who shed innocent blood of the unborn! Hell is a million times worse than a quick bullet.
I agree with you.

The Robert P. George article is excellent. Everyone's comments are so true. I can only add, ditto, on all accounts!
