You don’t go into the NAACP and use the word“Obamacare” and think that you’re not going to hear some boos. It’s a heavily loaded word, and Romney and his people know very well that liberals and the president’s supporters consider it an insult. He and his team had to know those boos were coming, and Romney acknowledged as much a few hours later in an interview with . . . guess which channel (hint: it’s the one whose web site often has to close articles about race to commenters because of the blatant racism).

NAACP Wishing the Tea Party Dead?

"Whenever you see major progress in this country, you see massive backlash right behind it, and we are in one of those moments like the 1960s," he said during a phone interview ahead of the convention. "We are seeing massive progress and we are seeing massive backlash. The only way to deal with that type of push-back is to fight back.
"The reality is that the tea party represents a small and dying demographic in this country, but they are as empowered as they are privileged," he added.
[emphasis added]
Who is this "small and dying demographic" represented by the tea party?
They're white. They're older. And they're angry...
Eighteen percent of Americans identify as Tea Party supporters. The vast majority of them -- 89 percent -- are white. Just one percent is black. They tend to skew older: Three in four are 45 years old or older, including 29 percent who are 65 plus. They are also more likely to be men (59 percent) than women (41 percent).
The angry white tea partier... may his days be few; may another take his place of leadership!
